Human Resources Hiring Specialist Position Summary

We are looking for a Recruitment Specialist to undertake all hiring activities, from advertising open roles to interviewing candidates and closing hires.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Hiring Specialist responsibilities include connecting with potential candidates online and offline, screening applications, and supporting hiring managers. If you have experience evaluating candidates for roles of various fields and seniority levels, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for hiring qualified people while maintaining a positive candidate experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with HR Director on recruitment planning
  • Establish recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs
  • Determine applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications
  • Attract applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites
  • Utilize the internet for recruitment
  • Post positions to appropriate internet sources
  • Research new ways of using the internet for recruitment
  • Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates
  • Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • Arrange management interviews by coordinating schedules
  • Fill open positions efficiently and effectively
  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance if needed
  • Update recruitment tracker and orientation training plan
  • Manage the use of recruiters and headhunters
  • Create contacts within the industry
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Perform reference and background checks for potential employees
  • Write rejection letters
  • Follow the CCR SOP on recruitment process
  • Ensure that Authority to Recruit Form (ATR) is approved and that OTP and/or Position Description is attached to ATR
  • Manage interview process
  • Develops job offers and employment agreements
  • Manage work permit process

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Recruitment Specialist, Recruiter, or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with the largest job sites like Monster and Indeed
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Github and Stack Overflow
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Team spirit
  • BS in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or relevant field
