The CP2 Advantage
Universal Woods' exclusive 15-step process meets your finishing requirements,
surpassing what the industry's best conventional systems produce. The Cross-
Link Polymerization Process (CP2) combines detailed substrate preparation
with precision coating technologies to create high quality finished panels. The
process allows us to cross-link a durable polymer surface to a variety of
substrates including:
" Aluminum
" Cement board
" Fiberglass reinforced plastics
" Hardboard
" Fiberboard
" Particleboard
" Phenolic laminate
" Steel
" Veneer plywood
Universal Wood's meticulous preparation, precision coating and advanced curing
technologies yields panels with brilliant finish clarity, remarkable durability and
superior stain resistance. The entire process is environmentally friendly and yields
a non-toxic, safe finish that enhances the life and performance of our customer's
products.
Our 300 foot, $5 million finishing line produces over 15 million square feet of panels
on an annual basis. Drawing from a variety of polymers, finishes are created to
provide the color, style and function features desired. Coatings are chemically and
mechanically bonded-Cross-Linked-to substrates using electron beam coupled
with ultra violet curing technologies that maximize surface performance.
Universal Wood's polymer surfaces can be engineered to provide features uncommon
to conventional finishing systems like resistance to bacteria, drag, flame spread,
scratch, stain, UV degradation, water and chemicals. We have also developed an
Electro-Static Dissipative (ESD) surface.
